The little black dress

I think I own about 10 simple black dresses, each one with just a small detail or a hint of being different, but not turning too much away from the concept of the LBD.

Origin of this black dress is linked, as fashion historians say it, to Coco Chanel's revolution of fashion. She re-created simplicity thus bringing the female beauty back to its importance, and not letting the "decorations" take over the "character".

Seeing all these trends now - flowers, marine style, 2 layers of dresses etc. (which I do not say are wrong or not attractive), I have to think of Coco telling about her creation in the book Die Kunst, Chanel zu sein. Coco Chanel erzählt ihr Leben (The Art of Being Chanel. Coco Chanel retells her life): "not anyone can wear a black dress." It is a matter of style, attitude, elegance, which need to be more or less innate.

So, there are still some differences between expensive and luxury as there are differences between people who OWN/HAVE and people who ARE.

So,...do you dare to wear a LBD now?

...and because the spring can only last while you are at work and not when the weekend starts, nice clouds have just gathered up on the sky. Go awaaaaaaaaay!!!

My product family sign presentation is done. Hope the meeting will be preponed. Don't you just love people who schedule you into a meeting from 16.30 to 17.00 while your program should end at 16.45???? Yah,...I thought so!

I am looking forward to the weekend, but especially to getting home now and going back in the garden. There are more and more diffrent flowers coming out to light...so that that small piece of earth is getting more and more colourful. Here a picture (not mine) of some flowers in our garden and in all the green areas around...

Montblanc de la Culture Patronage Award 2010

"The Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award was established in 1992 to honour and support modern-day patrons of the arts who devoted their time, energy and money in order to encourage cultural life to flourish.

Each year the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award recognises and celebrates the work of outstand...ing private patrons of the arts in 10 countries around the world. To be chosen, a patron has to demonstrate both, commitment to the arts but also the aim that the wider public should benefit as a result of that support."

Check out more details and pictures on the Facebook official page of Montblanc. Here's the link:

Sun is shining...something great for a change!
Am working on some display creation for watch families. All I can say for now! Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.

Looking forward to this evening: sitting a bit in the garden (not too much, at that time it is cold again), and then off to the stove for some finger-licking food which I will cook.

Counting days to supreme food pleasure for Easter: 10 days left till I can enjoy my mum's promised cake.
